Hevy alternatives

Checked November 7, 2026. Prices are from the US App Store that day.

Hevy is free, with a feed of the people you follow. Its free plan stops at 4 routines and 3 months of history, it has no team space outside Hevy Coach, and it is one kind of app. Here are four others, with what each does best and what it lacks next to Hevy. We make LOGR, so it comes first.

Strava Friends who already run and ride on it. Free. A subscription is $11.99 a month or $79.99 a year. iPhone, Android, Apple Watch, and the web.

LOGR

A free workout log for iPhone with your friends and your team in it. No limit on routines or history, a monthly leaderboard of the people you follow, and teams with their own chat and Team Calendar. Next to Hevy, it is iPhone only, in the US and Canada only, has no watch app, and has a much smaller community. It reads Hevy's CSV export, so your history comes with you. The two in detail: LOGR vs Hevy.

Strong

A fast, plain log for lifting alone. The free version saves unlimited workouts but only 3 custom routines, and Strong PRO is $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year. It runs on iPhone, Android, and Apple Watch, and its watch app works without the phone. Next to Hevy, it has no feed of friends: you share a workout or routine by sending it.

Strava

The biggest app for sharing training, with more than 200 million users. Since May 2026 its workout log records sets, reps and weight, so lifts sit next to runs and rides with kudos and comments from the same friends. Coach-designed strength workouts are for subscribers. Next to Hevy, its strength log is new, inside an app built for endurance. Hevy can also send each workout to Strava, so the two work together. More in Is there a Strava for lifting?

Boostcamp

Built around programs: a large free library of plans with their progressions, with 99 of its 132 coach-designed programs free, and a program builder. Pro adds personalized programs and automatic progression. It runs on iPhone and Android, and has a feed to follow friends. Next to Hevy, it has a smaller community, and its App Store listing shows no Apple Watch app.

FAQ

What is the best free alternative to Hevy?

It depends on what you need. For lifting with friends or a team on iPhone with nothing to pay, LOGR. For a program to follow, Boostcamp's free library. For friends who already use Strava, Strava's workout log.

Can I take my Hevy workouts to another app?

Yes. Hevy exports your workouts as a CSV file from Profile, Settings, Export & Import Data. LOGR reads that file: in Settings, tap Import Lifts and pick it.

Is LOGR free?

Yes. LOGR is free, with no subscription, no ads, and none of your history behind a paywall.
