Teen accounts
Last updated: October 1, 2026
LOGR is for people 13 and older. Accounts for people under 18 work differently, to keep LOGR safe for younger athletes. This page says exactly how.
What is different
| What | 13 to 15 | 16 and 17 | 18 and older |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct messages | None, sent or received. | With people you follow who follow you back. | With anyone. Someone who does not follow you gets a request first. |
| Group chats and communities | No. | No. | Yes. |
| Teams | Yes, including the team's chat. | Yes, including the team's chat. | Yes. |
| Your account | Private, always. | Private to start. You can make it public. | Your choice. |
| Discover, suggestions and search | Not shown to people who do not already follow you. | Shown. | Shown. |
| Family-Friendly Language | Always on. | Always on. | On to start. Your choice. |
| Photos from people you do not follow | Blurred in the feed until you tap them. | Blurred in the feed until you tap them. | Your choice, in Settings. |
These change by themselves as you get older. Direct messages open on your 16th birthday, and group chats and communities on your 18th, with nothing to do.
How LOGR knows your age
- Your birthday. LOGR asks for it before anything else when you sign up (with Apple or Google, straight after that sign-in, before a name or username is chosen), and asks every existing account the next time it opens the app. The app cannot be used until it is answered.
- Your Apple Account. On iPhones where the law requires an age check, LOGR also reads the age range your Apple Account holds. If it and your birthday disagree, the younger one counts.
Both are visible only to you. No other account is ever told your age: if a message to you is refused, the person sending it is told only that they cannot message you.
Changing your birthday
Open Settings › Birthday. A change that keeps you in the same age group, or makes you younger, saves straight away. A birthday can never be removed. To move it into an older age group, email support@getlogr.com from the address on your account and we will sort it out.
Under 13
LOGR is not for children under 13. Sign-up turns away anyone whose birthday makes them under 13, and keeps doing so on that phone until the date they gave turns 13. An existing account that gives a birthday under 13, or that Apple says is under 13, is deleted along with everything in it, including its photos.
For parents and guardians
- Screen Time. On iPhones where LOGR reads the age range from Apple, it also reads whether you have turned on Communication Limits in Screen Time. While they are on, LOGR messaging is off for that account: no direct messages, and nothing sent in any chat. They can still read their team's chat, so a coach's plans still reach them. LOGR checks each time it is opened, so once the limit is off, messaging comes back.
- A child under 13 with an account. Email support@getlogr.com from any address with their username, and we will delete it. You do not need their password.
- Something worrying. Any post, comment, message, or account can be reported from inside the app, and any account blocked. For anything involving a minor, email us with the usernames involved and we will prioritise it.
The Privacy Policy covers what LOGR stores, and the Community Guidelines what is not allowed. The binding version of the rules above is section 1 of the Terms of Service.
