Privacy Policy

LOGR is a workout logging app. This policy explains what the app collects, where it is stored, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. It covers the LOGR iOS app and this website.
The short version. LOGR stores the training you log and the things you post, because that is the product. It has no analytics SDK, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. It does not sell your data, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.
1. What LOGR collects
Everything below is information you enter or generate by using the app. LOGR does not buy data about you or collect it from other sources.
| Category | What it includes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email address, password, username, display name. | To create and secure your account. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider and are never visible to us. |
| Profile | Optional: bio, profile photo, primary sport, phone number. | Shown on your profile so other athletes can recognise you. All of it is optional and editable at any time. |
| Training | Workouts, exercises, sets, reps, weights, session duration and date, routines, personal records, streak days, and the notes you write on them. | This is the core of the app: your history, your records, your streak, your leaderboard position. |
| Social | Posts and their captions, photos attached to posts, likes, comments, follows, and blocks. If we add video or other media later, it is stored the same way and this row covers it. | To show your posts to the audience you chose and to build your feed. |
| Messages | Direct messages, group, team and community chats, reactions and poll votes. | To deliver messages to the people in that conversation. |
| Playlists | Music links you paste, plus the title and cover art we look up for them. | To show your playlists on your profile. |
| Notifications | A push token for each device you enable notifications on, basic device model and OS information, your notification preferences, and your reminder time. | To send the alerts you turned on, and only those. Your daily reminder is scheduled on your own device and is never sent from our servers. |
This website
This site has no web analytics and sets no cookies of its own, which is covered in full in our Cookie Policy. The one thing it collects is the email address you type into the waitlist form, if you choose to. That is stored by Netlify, who host this site, and we use it only to email you about LOGR's launch and testing. You can ask us to remove it at any time, and every email we send will have a way to unsubscribe.
2. What LOGR does not collect
Stated plainly, because most fitness apps do some of these:
- No product analytics. Two different things share that word, so to be exact: the app works out your volume, your personal records and your streak, and that analysis is what LOGR is for. Nothing measures you. There is no analytics SDK in the app, and we do not record which screens you open or how long you spend on them.
- No advertising and no ad identifiers. LOGR does not show ads and does not read your device's advertising ID.
- No location. The app never requests location permission.
- No Apple Health or HealthKit data. LOGR does not connect to Health, and does not read heart rate, steps, sleep or body measurements.
- No contacts. The app never requests access to your address book.
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no data sold or shared with data brokers.
The app asks for exactly two device permissions: your photo library, when you choose a profile picture or attach photos to a post, and notifications, when you turn them on. Declining either leaves the rest of the app fully usable.
3. Who can see your information
Other people using LOGR
- Your profile (name, username, photo, bio, sport, and your training totals) is visible to other signed-in LOGR users.
- Each post carries its own visibility setting, which you choose when you post and can change afterwards. A private post is visible only to you.
- The monthly leaderboard is limited to people you follow who follow you back. It is not public and not global.
- Messages are visible to the members of that conversation. They are not end-to-end encrypted, so they are readable on our servers, and a member of the conversation can report a message for review.
- Blocking someone hides your content from them and theirs from you across posts, comments, profiles and messages, and removes any follow in both directions.
Service providers
LOGR runs on a small number of third parties, each of which processes data on our behalf:
- Supabase hosts the database, the authentication system and the image storage. Effectively all of the data in section 1 lives here.
- Expo delivers push notifications. To send you an alert, your push token and the text of that alert pass through Expo's push service and then through Apple's Push Notification service.
- Apple distributes the app through the App Store and TestFlight and provides push delivery.
- Netlify hosts this website and stores waitlist signups. It handles no data from inside the app.
- Music services. When you add a playlist, the app asks Spotify, Apple Music or SoundCloud for that link's public title and cover art. That request comes from your device, so the service sees it. No account information is sent, and LOGR does not connect to your music account.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We will disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to investigate a violation of our Terms or protect someone's safety.
4. Moderation
When you report a message, the app saves a copy of that message and the messages immediately around it, so the report can still be reviewed if the original is later deleted. Reports are readable only by us. Messages are also checked against a list of banned phrases before they send.
5. Security and storage
- All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS.
- Access to your data is enforced in the database itself with row level security, not just in the app, so another user cannot read rows they are not entitled to even outside the app.
- Your session tokens are held in your device's secure storage (the iOS Keychain).
- Data is stored on servers operated by our hosting provider, which may be located in the United States. If you use LOGR from elsewhere, your information is transferred there.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information for as long as your account exists.
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Settings, at the bottom of the screen. It is deletion, not deactivation: it removes your sign-in record along with your profile and everything attached to it, including your workouts, routines, personal records, posts, photos, playlists, messages, likes and follows. Nothing is kept in reserve and there is no waiting period. Your email address is released, so you are free to sign up again with it later. This cannot be undone, and we cannot restore an account afterwards.
Two things outlive your account, and it is only fair to say which. If a message of yours was reported, the moderation record and the snapshot of the surrounding conversation are kept for as long as needed to handle the report. And if you were the owner of a team, community or group chat that other people are still in, that conversation stays where it is and passes to its next most senior member, rather than being deleted out from under them.
7. Your rights
Whatever you are entitled to under the law where you live, you can ask for the following and we will honour it:
- A copy of the information LOGR holds about you.
- Correction of anything inaccurate. Most of it you can edit directly in the app.
- Deletion of your account and its content, as described above.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, or to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us to exercise any of these. We will not treat you differently for asking.
8. Children
LOGR is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who sees it, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, say so in the app.
